Based on Clayton's personal experiences, her book encourages readers to seek a deeper truth in their lives and live in the present moment.
"The novel depicts a difficult period in my life," Clayton said. "But through darkness, the poems reflect the growth and joy I have experienced from overcoming life's difficulties."
At 24 years old, Clayton was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Since then, she has written 13 books, which have been primarily poetry. Her unique voice and artistic expression help showcase the colorful verses in Quiet Sheba.
