Dreamscape Media today announced that publishing veteran Cat Zappa has joined the award-winning publishing and production company as Executive Director of Content and Strategy.
Zappa brings over 15 years of experience in the publishing and entertainment industries to Dreamscape, most recently as a sales director for HarperCollins Christian Publishing. In her nearly decade long career at HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Zappa oversaw audio, film and TV sales for a variety of the publishing company's multicultural and faith imprints, including Thomas Nelson, Zondervan, Emanate, HarperInspire, Grupo, and Vida; and the general market imprints of Blink and HarperCollins Leadership.
Prior to HarperCollins, Zappa held a variety of leadership roles in the entertainment industry, including Vice President of Production and Development for Hi-Def Entertainment and Creative Affairs Executive for Yari Film Group.
"Dreamscape is diversifying the publishing industry by empowering the artists and creatives behind today's most relevant content: from the self-publisher to the largest entertainment studios and brands, and everything in between," said Zappa. "I am excited to contribute to this exceptional growth as a member of the Dreamscape team."
As Executive Director of Content and Strategy, Zappa will be responsible for leading development of Dreamscape's publishing and media strategy for audiobooks, children's video, and feature films. Zappa joins a growing team of talented new hires for Dreamscape, including Acquisitions Director Lorna Henry, previously of Penguin Random House.
"Cat Zappa's extensive background with legacy publishing brands, and entertainment industry expertise, make her an exceptional choice to lead Dreamscape's content and strategy," said Dreamscape Publisher Tammy Faxel. "We're thrilled to have her join us and look forward to growing and strengthening Dreamscape's content portfolio under her strategic direction."
