Springer Publishing Company is proud to announce the publication of its first eBook sampler, which is free to download and includes excerpts of each book in the popular Psych 101 Series.
The Psych 101 Series offers short introductions to cutting-edge topics in psychology, and is directed at students of psychology and anyone interested in the field. Popular titles include Creativity 101, Giftedness 101, Humor 101, Anxiety 101, and Emotional Intelligence 101, to name a few. The eBook sampler includes the introductory pages and first chapter of each of the eleven titles published in the series so far.
"The Psych 101 Series does what no other series has done, carving out its own niche by wedding the scholarly with the accessible," said Dr. James C. Kaufman, the editor of the series. "Written with humor, anecdotes, and examples from the author's own interests, reading a Psych 101 book is like having a nice, relaxed lunch with the author."
Dr. Kaufman, a professor of Psychology at California State University at San Bernardino and Director of the Learning Research Institute there, is an international leader in the field of creativity. His work has been featured and discussed on CNN, NPR, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, New Yorker, and the BBC. In addition to being the editor of the Psych 101 Series, Dr. Kaufman is the author of one of its books, Creativity 101. His father, Dr. Alan Kaufman, is one of the world's leading experts on IQ testing, and the author of another of the series' books, IQ Testing 101.
"Psych 101 is a dynamic series offering fascinating snapshots of the most important and hotly discussed topics in psychology," commented Nancy Hale, Editorial Director of the Social Sciences at Springer Publishing, and the publisher of the series. "We hope this eBook sampler will introduce the series to an even broader audience of students, faculty, professionals, and interested general readers."
