The need to inform the world of the fact that black people are not inferior to the white people has prompted Prince Olugbenga Adegbuyi Orebanwo to write "Journey of a Black Man" (published by iUniverse) which gives an account of the Yoruba language-speaking people of Western Nigeria and the oral narration of how God created the world.
This book tells the story of the origin of the black man, according to the oral narration of Orenbanwo's ancestors, the (Ijebu) people who are one of the prominent tribes in Nigeria. This narration tells readers how Olorun-Eledumare (God Almighty) created the earth in a location which scientist identified as Atlantis, a land that eventually sunk and formed the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the remnant of Atlantis is called Ife in Nigeria.
"When I migrated to the United States, I discovered that there is a serious discrimination against the black people, which I also experience everywhere in Texas and even in the U.S. Navy," Orebanwo says. "I realized that there is a need to investigate the reason why the white people enslaved the black people and why they still treat and expect the blacks in the U.S. to accept and remain inferior to them."
"Journey of a Black Man" informs readers of the genuine image of who the black people are, tells the history of what happened during the era of the slave trade and shows how historical facts in the Bible is similar to the oral narration of the Ijebu people's ancestors.
