When her high school sweetheart and spouse for 18 years passed away, Cynthia Weathers found herself widowed, alone and lost. What would come next was almost too much heartache for one person to bare, but Weathers is a fighter.

In her new book, Precious Moments We Shared in Time, Cynthia Weathers writes about her husband's passing and the emotional toll that came with it. After both her parents passed away and Weathers' health took a turn for the worse, her life suddenly came to a screeching halt.

Due to these drastic life experiences, Weathers put her schooling to become a nurse on hold. She found that she had two options; continue living in grief and sadness or find a way to ease the pain she was experiencing.

"I found that writing about my life; the pain, the joy and the memories, were a valuable tool in my own, personal therapy," said Weathers. "Life can leave you with an empty bed, but it's about proving that you are the driver of your own life, not the passenger."

In Precious Moments We Shared in Time, Weathers proves that she controls her own life no matter what trials she faces.
