Poetry Collection Highlights The 'Very Tragic' Futility of War Image Derek William Stead marks his publishing debut with the release of "From Home to Sunset" (published by Xlibris UK), a poetry collection highlighting the "absolutely horrific and very tragic futility of war."

Written for the 100-year commemoration of the Great War, "From Home to Sunset" confronts what Stead calls to be "by far the most futile of all wars." The book compels readers, in their own minds, to be able to place themselves within the various situations that war brings about.

"Sadly, violent conflict is a constant continuum of the human psyche which inevitably means that somewhere upon this beautiful planet war is also a continuum," Stead shares. "I personally believe in my mind, heart, body and soul that many people do not see all warfare as futile. I hope others will see war's futility."

Inspired of the fallen during the Great War, "From Home to Sunset" aims to impart to readers a hope of a far less violent world among members of the human species.
