Poetry Book Presents Career Choices for Young Readers Image Janis Arnold always thinks of ways to assist children in gaining early reading skills for she believes that the younger a child learns to read, the more success they will have during their school years and beyond. According to Arnold, reading rhyming poetry helps children become familiar with predictions-an early reading skill. Thus, she penned, "What I Want to Be from A - Z" (published by Xlibris), a children's poetry book designed to educate young readers on career choices.

"What I Want to Be from A - Z" is a fun way to learn about a variety of careers. Each poem contains vocabulary that will help children learn about a career. Young readers will get to know a female English red fox named Fiona, and an American gray fox named Fernando. They will view on some of the poems one of the foxes dressed up for that career.

"By a parent or teacher reading the book, the child will enjoy the colorful illustrations, the characters and the flow of the words as the reader reads each poem," says Arnold, explaining the book's potential appeal to readers.

Highlighting the importance of early childhood education, Arnold hopes that her book will be of aid for children to learn and develop a love of poetry and reading.
