Inspired by the terrible trials and tribulations she endured in her path such as the murder of her grandmother, assault charges for simply protecting her own family, author-poet Sherika Moore poetically shares her experiences and emotions, reflections and insights in her newly published book, titled Just Listen. Moore refers to her work as "every emotion in a nutshell" and primarily encourages young ladies to be more productive while also providing a good read for people of every age.
"I have truly come a long way and in Just Listen you will see the bumps and mountains I had to climb," shares Moore. "I am 28 years old and I have been through the fire and been through the flood, but god is truly good. God has brought me out of every situation, I mean every last one. I now have the strength to push forward and enlighten the fools, for I once was one."
Moore has keen observation about most people. She believes that in life, people search for things that are easy and skip over the written hard facts; that people write because most are afraid to read; that most people write to escape from who they are not and reveal their true identity; and that most people write to be heard. Hence, she wrote her book so for a change, people can "Just Listen."
Moore also believes that if all people have a relaxing method, the world might be a better place; ears would never ring, because judgment would be far. People judge what they see, and they ask out of greed and envy. They all have emotions that overcome common sense. Therefore, her invitation is for her readers to sit back, relax, and enjoy her own version of emotional and spiritual, love and hate, direct self- and reality-check poetry.
Filled with words of wisdom and encouragement, Just Listen is one book that uplifts and inspires, motivate and empowers readers to let go of all negativity and embrace what life has to offer. "Sometimes we forget how to just listen," Moore adds. "I always say life is what you make it, and I made it beautiful and peaceful. I still have life to go, so I say follow me for a real adventure through my books, movies and music."
