America's leading nurturing organization for playwrights Theater Masters & the legendary drama publisher Samuel French hosted a Book Party Launch for winning 10-minute Plays entitled "Theater Masters' Take Ten Vol.1" Book Launch Party----at Theater Masters' Artistic Director Julia Hansen's Park Avenue residence on Wednesday, December 9th. Theater Masters kicked off its 10th Anniversary of its National MFA Playwrights Festival by toasting the launch of it inaugural Samuel French publication of "Theatre Masters' Take Ten Vol. 1" an anthology of the winning 10-minute plays from "Take Ten 2015

Question: What does Abe Koogler's play Kill Floor at Lincoln Center and Jordan Harrison's play Marjorie Prime at Playwrights Horizons of Playwrights along with and the just released Samuel French publication of "Theater Masters' Take Ten Volume I" have in common? Answer: America's leading nurturing organization for playwrights----Theater Masters. Long- time president of the Drama League Julia Hansen used her same special skills she applied to create the Drama League's acclaimed "Directors Program" and refocused her knowing hand to playwrights and created Theater Masters, the country's leading program to nurture, develop, and introduce the next generation of American playwrights. Along with co-artistic director Naomi McDougall Jones, Ms. Hansen has announced December 9th was the organization's 15th Anniversary.

Based in Aspen, Colorado, with programs in Palm Beach, Florida and New York City, Theater Masters is dedicated to nurturing, developing, and producing or causing to be produced the work of the next generation of American playwrights. Since 2001, Theater Masters hosts a national 10-minute playwriting competition among the MFA students at the top MFA playwriting programs in the country. There is a need for an organization to bridge the gap between the training playwrights receive in their MFA programs and the professional careers that lay ahead of them. The National MFA Playwrights Festival strives to provide this bridge.
