Prominent community leaders and supporters from the City of West Hollywood gathered on Wednesday night for an event honoring the Mani Brothers for their generous donation. The Mani Family has committed $1.5 million to support the LibraryPark campaign, a major initiative launched by the City of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood Library Fund to raise funds and community support for the new West Hollywood Library. The Mani Family’s transformational gift has helped to create the ‘Mani Family Floor’ – the first floor of the city’s new public library.
Over wine and hors d’oeuvres, StEve Johnson, one of the architects of the West Hollywood Library conducted a tour highlighting the features of the civic building.
Guests of the event included the Mani Family, John Duran, the Mayor of the City of West Hollywood; John Heilman, Councilmember; Paul Aravelo, the City Manager; Abbe Land, Councilmember; Joan English, Assistant City Manager; and StEve Johnson, MDA Johnson Favaro, architects of the new West Hollywood Library.
Paul Arevalo, City Manager, said, “The Mani Family has been such a great supporter of the library and an important member of the West Hollywood community. We are most grateful for the their support of the library and for their valued membership in the community.”

About the new West Hollywood Library:
The new West Hollywood Library is a state-of-the-art library, and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold-certified civic and cultural center . Designed by architects StEve Johnson and Jim Favaro of MDA Johnson Favaro, the Library holds more than 150,000 volumes as well as magazines, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks and special collections that spotlight West Hollywood's vibrant diversity. The library features an International Languages Collection; a Decorative Arts and Design Area; a collection of large print materials for seniors and people who are visually impaired.

The West Hollywood Library Fund is a 501c(3) nonprofit governed by a volunteer board of directors. Formed in 2007, the Fund united to improve the quality of life and opportunities for the community’s diverse residents by enhancing their access to information, education programs, technology and each other.
