Phillip Harris Releases INKY PINKY

Nyctophobia, or fear of the dark, is very common among children, says a recent article in the Chicago Tribune. When author Phillip Harris witnessed his friend's daughter having the same fear, he came up with a story to help her. "Inky Pinky" (published by Trafford Publishing) tells the story of a brave doll that long ago defended children from ghosts and monsters under their beds, so they never have to be afraid again.

"I think that there are a lot of children who are insecure," says Harris, "The book gives children a reason not to be afraid of the dark anymore."

Gloria, a sweet 4-year-old girl, is terrified of the dark. Her loving mother, anxious to help her daughter, fashions Inky Pink, a doll made from an old sock with a pink cape sewn on the back. That night, Gloria's mother tells her the legend of Inky Pink, who fought the evil Gargonoyle, king of the Land of Doom. Inky Pinky must battle the ghosts and monsters so children will no longer have to fear them.

Filled with wonderful illustrations and a secure message for children, "Inky Pinky" will delight young readers and help them overcome their fears of the dark. Harris writes, "I care about children and want to help them be happy."
