About the Author
Philip D. Smith is a fanatical baseball fan whose office is filled with old baseball memorabilia. He has worked numerous jobs, from a soldier in the U.S. army to coaching high school softball and basketball. During his time as a softball coach he won two Oklahoma state championships in fastpitch softball. He holds a Ph.D. in U.S. history and is currently employed as a professor of American history at Tulsa Community College. He is still married to the girl he began dating at the age of 16 and together they have two children.
