Author Solutions, LLC, a Penguin Random House company and the world leader in indie book publishing, announced Monday that Perigee/Prentice Hall Press-an imprint of Penguin Random House-has acquired AuthorHouse title "Brand Damage," a guide on personal branding, co-authored by Larry G. Linne and Patrick Sitkins. Prentice will re-release the book under the title "Brand Aid: Take Control of Your Reputation-Before Everyone Else Does," in January 2014.

"Patrick Sitkins and I feel honored to join the Prentice Hall Press imprint team," said Linne. "We have experienced incredible excitement and acceptance of our book while being self-published. Now that we have this powerful partnership, we believe great things will happen for us and for a much larger group of readers. We were blessed to begin our work with the great team at Author Solutions, and we are grateful for how both of these organizations have helped us."

Originally self-published through AuthorHouse in May 2013, the book addresses personal branding, which Linne calls "one of businesses' most critical strategic initiatives in the next three to five years," due to the increasing accessibility to information about people through social media. Marian Lizzi, editor-in-chief of Perigee/Prentice Hall Press, said the combination of the book's engaging and relatable authorial voice, fresh and useful advice, as well as its strong early sales, made "Brand Damage" an attractive acquisition.

"I'm delighted that we'll be publishing this smart and timely guide under our Prentice Hall Press imprint, which specializes in books on business communications and career development," Lizzi said. "It's rare to find a book that strikes a chord with both a professional readership and the rest of us-that is, anyone who wants to influence how others see them. We were impressed with how quickly this book caught on with readers."

Linne and Sitkins approach the topic from two unique perspectives. Linne is a seasoned fifty-something professional whose career runs the gamut from NFL wide receiver to professional speaker to consulting. Sitkins, a Gen Xer in his early thirties, has launched and grown his professional career during the emergence and popularization of social media.
