D'Arcy receives national recognition through the Independent Press Award ®
The Independent Press Award competition has recognized Stars at Night: When Darkness unfolds as Light, written by Paula D'Arcy and published by Franciscan Media, as a distinguished favorite in the category of Grief.
Stars at Night is a lyrical exploration of D'Arcy's own grief after the sudden death of her husband and young daughter in a car crash. As she fumbles through her despair, she discovers the transcendent love of the Presence that is always there to help her find her way back to the light. Anyone who has experienced a "dark night of the soul" will benefit from D'Arcy's inspiring perspective and beautifully expressed prose.
"We're delighted, but not at all surprised, that this beautiful, inspiring work has been recognized with this honor," said
Kelly Hudson, director of marketing for Franciscan Media.
The Independent Press Award competition is judged by experts from all aspects of the book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. They select award winners and distinguished favorites based on overall excellence.
"In 2017, we had worldwide participation, from London to Australia, from Portugal to Hong Kong, and are so proud to announce the winners and favorites in our annual Independent Press Award . Independent publishing is alive and well, and continues to gain traction worldwide," said awards sponsor Gabrielle Olczak.
