Author Paul Okamnaonu Nwaogu was raised in an environment characterized by the ambitious and caring nature of both his parents whose hard work and unwavering disciplinary measures nurtured and inspired him at a very young age to dream beyond the social norm of success, beyond the fields of corn, cassava, okra, yams and melons where his parents worked and where true and real life's lessons were taught. He shares his life journey from the seashores of Africa to the heartland of the United States of America in "I Came, Saw and Lived-An autobiography" (published by Xlibris).

This book is a journey through life that touches on Nwaogu's parentage, activities in the village, struggles, challenges and successes in his career as a teacher in different schools. His social activities in the community are also highlighted, including how he moved up the educational ladder with his family in the process.

"Today's world is dominated by laxity, indolence and pursuit of epicurean principles," Nwaogu points out." To succeed in life, one has to gird his loins fast. Success is measured by how steadfast one is in the pursuit of one's ambitions. My life story shows how successes are achieved through dogged perseverance and endurance as well as by following a definite road map for desired accomplishments."

"I Came, Saw and Lived" portrayed Nwaogu's struggles, accomplishments and failures in life. He hopes that by sharing his life story, readers will learn to value hard work, obedience to parents and elders and perseverance. He also would like them to be proactive in the community, country and other world affairs as they try to help build a society for the common good.
