Paul Kalbach has a penchant for detail. He cofounded one of the leading affiliate technology platforms, AvantLink.com, and leads business development. He's so engrossed in getting the details right, that he's contesting a widely taught timeline of events in a generally popular and well-known book: the Bible.
In his new book, "The Sign of the End of the Age: What Jesus Taught about the Future in Matthew 24," Kalbach provides a guidebook for understanding Jesus' teachings about the "end times," particularly information in Matthew 24 about the future. He offers a different timeline than the mainstream view of when particular events will take place.
"I discovered an outline to the entire 24th chapter, based on the three disciples' questions in verse 3," Kalbach said. "I'd never seen anyone do this outline before, or write on this particular approach, but it so fits an analysis of Matthew, that I believe it's what Jesus taught. That outline is the basis for the book."
Kalbach's background is in software development, sales and building companies. He developed a popular retrieval reporting language and successful company, based on it, early in his career. He is currently vice president of AvantLink and teaches adult Bible school classes.
"A lifelong study of the Bible brought me to understand that the mainstream evangelical church has really misinterpreted the Lord's teaching on the timing and nature of certain events," Kalbach said. "This book is an attempt to set that record straight."
