Patty Scott had several times in her life when she felt alone and forgot that God was always there to help her. Inspired by the goodness of God even in her worst times, she writes a story that follows "The Porcelain Rose" (published by Balboa Press). In this tale, readers witness a memoir about love missed because of society's taboos, the importance of forgiveness and how it can redeem one's life.

Scott tells Kira's story where a difficult childhood led to marriage to Nevan. During their time together, Kira discovered that she could not love him the way she felt she should, and he could not love her as she wanted and expected. There was something "off," but in the early 1970s, some things just were not talked about.

Kira's reflection on her past adds insight to what could have been wrong in her marriage - and her life. She had a difficult childhood with a father who was often absent. And now, in some ways, she seemed to have been reliving her mother's marriage. Their marriage ended in divorce at a very young age and it took 35 years for them to reconnect and for them to go through the forgiveness process for the failed marriage.

The story of Kira and Nevan reminds readers that "we all need to forgive or to be forgiven for something we have had in our past or past relationships, what happens in marriages and divorce." Their tale will inspire lives of people who have opened up and some who do not have the courage to do so and may need someone to relate to.

"Now is the time for our story to be out in society, where when Nevan and Kira were married, you didn't talk about this at all. Neither one of them was able to talk about it before, but now Kira can. Nevan isn't around to do so, but he would have if he had lived longer," Scott shares.
