"All my life I have noticed how fearful people seem to be about death," author Pat Gowdy says, contemplating the nature of thanatophobia, the fear mover that which is inevitable, the end of life. With his collection of Christian poetry and essays, titled Gold Beneath My Feet, he delves deeper into these matters to bring a measure of solace to the dreadful notion of mortality through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

According to the author, it seems that some tend to hang on to the smallest fragment of life in this human form for as long as they possibly can. In some circles, death is talked about as an almost taboo thing. For Gowdy, however, God gave him this book to renew people's faith in Him and the marvelous riches waiting just on the other side. Mere words cannot describe the fullness of the afterlife He has prepared for His children, when one day they will absolutely see the gold beneath their feet. By spreading this Good News, the fear of death is diminished with the knowledge of the Kingdom of Heaven that awaits the faithful, for no fear can match that which is powerful - the love of God.

Solemn and enlightening, Gold Beneath My Feet is a spiritually invigorating discourse on the matter of life, death, and the life that awaits after death. Through his sincere and divinely-inspired words, Gowdy provides excellent food for the souls of believers everywhere.
