A God-Shaped World is a study of the four central characteristics of the kingdom of God as indicated in the Gospel of Luke. It shows how the attributes of the kingdom differ from our default human way of thinking and it investigates the change of heart and mind that is essential to embodying the nature of the kingdom.
This internal change is the work of God's Spirit. It transpires as the followers of Jesus live in relationship with God and in intentional Christian community. The internal transformation propels the individual from a fear driven "us versus them" mentality to a more in-depth way of living and relating to God.
"The book is a study resource for individuals and churches who are interested in exploring what shaped Jesus' understanding of his ministry and what he proclaimed with such passion: the kingdom of God," Langford said. "It explores the characteristics of the kingdom and how the kingdom is at cross purposes with the world. All in all, the kingdom produces a God-shaped world that stands in marked contrast to the fear-based, us-them world that we know."
