DUBUQUE, Iowa
Author and pastor Adam Hirschy approaches the delicate and complex task of evangelism with a new method called invitality. Presented in his new book "Invitality: Embrace a Life Culture of Compelling Invitation" (published by WestBow Press), this method is intended to help churches and Christians connect and share their faith with people in friendly ways.
"This book is about bringing people to Jesus without killing relationships," Hirschy says. "This book helps people be tactful rather than tacky as they grow in their great commission given by Christ to every Christian on earth: Go and make disciples."
"Invitality" explains a practice of evangelism focused on the method of invitation used when inviting people to church and to Christ. It emphasizes the culture change Hirschy says is necessary to successfully present one's faith in a friendly, rather than hateful, way. Using the invitality method of evangelism, Hirschy says a local church experienced 200 percent growth in documented salvations and 75 percent growth in the church population.
"I want readers to embrace a life culture of compelling invitation," Hirschy says. "I want their lives to be filled with Holy Spirit momentum in sharing their faith. I want their churches to grow like wildfire. I want invitality to become the norm for every believer in Jesus, regardless of denomination."
