Author Pam Saxelby was a teacher for over 25 years, 20 of which were spent teaching preschool. During this time she read hundreds of children's books and fell in love with the genre. She has taken this love a step further and decided to write one of her own.

Saxelby invites young and old readers alike to delight in her new children's book, "Max and Bear" (published by Archway Publishing), which follows a toy's struggle to be noticed by his new owner.

While Max hasn't been born yet, his family receives many gifts in preparation for his arrival. Bear is one such toy and greatly anticipates Max's arrival. When Max finally arrives, Bear couldn't be happier. This happiness soon turns to worry, however, when Bear realizes Max's desire to play with the other toys.

Throughout "Max and Bear," readers watch as Bear struggles to gain Max's attention over the flashier and more exciting toys. Saxelby hopes her book, complete with vibrant illustrations, will teach children the power of perseverance and that love is worth waiting for.
