In her premier book, Prayers of the Innocent (published by AuthorHouse), Cynthia Weaks recounts the story of a young college girl's victimization and her mother's search for the lowlife con-man who strong-armed her daughter into a ring of fraud and prostitution.

Based on a true story of bank fraud and sexual exploitation, this intriguing, unforgettable novel exposes the 2005 scandal of a predator named Kenneth. Posing as an attorney, he targeted many innocent students who attended historically black colleges and universities and unwittingly involved them in a string of illegal activities that left them drowning in debt and painful memories. Unfortunately, Alicia was caught in his deceitful web and found herself unable to confess to her boyfriend or even her loving mother.

Learning her own daughter was unintentionally involved in criminal activity broke Weaks's heart, but strengthened her resolve to bring the real criminal before the gavel of justice. During the course of her investigation, she discovered that her daughter hadn't been the only student to fall prey to the nefarious Kenneth, and she published her first book in order to teach developing mind how to protect themselves, both emotionally and mentally, from such illegitimate swindles.

As unbelievable as it sounds, the original criminal was sentenced to seven years in prison, but was released two years later. As Weaks predicted, he immediately returned to the same campus, initiating the same scam. "We received emails in January of 2007 from two sisters, saying the same swindle happened to them with the same guy," Weaks says. "And they said that if they would have read the book, they wouldn't have been so naïve and a little more cautious."

"It's not often that real-life is like an intense crime drama, but that's exactly what you'll find in Prayers of the Innocent," King Hoover, Editor of Host/Book in Review wrote. "True Innocence meets true Evil between its covers, and a mother's heart follows it all."

Inspired by her research and firsthand experience, Weaks currently visits churches, schools, conferences and campuses across the United States, sharing her and her daughter's heroic story as well as speaking on topics including education, awareness, detections and prevention of scams.

Weaks is the owner and director of The Little Teapot Daycare Center, founded in Forth Worth, Texas, in 1993. In 2006, Weaks founded Mad Parent Corporation, a non-profit organization committed to exposing scam artists and the crimes they commit against all community members as well as provide emotional and financial support to those who have been victimized by such assailants. A portion of the sales from Prayers of the Innocent helps support Mad Parent Corp. Please visit http://www.thebanksentertainment.com for more information.
