POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER is Released

As a child, Dr. Bibi Nomo Neumann was instilled with the values of public service, gender equality and humanitarian concern. She was inspired by her own mother's hard work to build Cameroon's first infrastructure that would serve to collect blood from all citizens and test for HIV/AIDS while creating the country's first national blood banking system.

Neumann has embarked on her own humanitarian efforts, one of which is her move to address disparities in the mental health field, particularly with regards to refugee healthcare and acculturation needs. She discusses this topic in detail in her new book titled "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: The Basics in Cameroonian Refugees" (published by Xlibris).

Neumann's work is a review of the literature on the psychological issues faced by refugees to the United States and on empirically supported treatments with potential implication for Cameroonian refugees with post traumatic stress disorder. It is written especially for clinicians working in the increasingly racially and culturally diverse arena of behavioral healthcare in the United States.

About the Author
Dr. Bibi Nomo Neumann was born in Manhattan, New York. Her family moved to Douala, Cameroon, after her father completed his training as bank manager. Neumann moved to the United States to pursue her education after her father's retirement from public service. She is a counseling psychologist by education and is currently a licensed school guidance counselor in the state of Minnesota and a licensed professional counselor. She is a member of the Minnesota Psychological Association and chairs their new Psychologists Network division.
