His name is Melvin Thaddeus Fowler Jr., an American football center who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Fowler has been a member of the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions. He played collegiate football at the University of Maryland.

PEE WEE FOOTBALL TO THE PROS (A MOTHER'S PERSPECTIVE) written by Lucinda Fowler tells the amazing story of her son, Melvin Thaddeus Fowler Jr., who became the center of his family's attention as the youngest child. His story is being told from her memory, her scrapbooks, and the data she collected over the years. Several developmental stages will be shared-from Melvin's birth as a four-pound, fourteen-ounce, and nineteen-inch baby to a 306-pound and six-foot, three inches tall man-child. This pictorial story is not just about Melvin but also about how a blended family of nine and several members of the community (including close family friends) played crucial roles in developing the young man he has become today. He is much more than a football player.

This is a story of Melvin's growth and development and how his participation in sports assisted him in becoming a well-rounded person and one who is respected by his peers. His love of sports taught him to be a disciplined and responsible leader as well as a good team player. In addition, sports have helped him learn how to make decisions and to deal with life's obstacles. This book is a fascinating story that takes readers through Melvin's entire life, from his birth to Pee Wee Football, to the story of his great high school career at Half Hollow Hills High School West, his collegiate football successes at the University of Maryland and finally to his playing days in the National Football League (NFL).

Lucinda thought for years of writing about her son's life story but was too busy chasing behind him and attending every one of his games to stop and focus long enough to write. But since Melvin's football career has come to an end, she has had more time to reflect about what an amazing professional life he has had and the exposure he has given she and her husband. He introduced them to people, places, and events that they would have never encountered.

PEE WEE FOOTBALL TO THE PROS (A MOTHER'S PERSPECTIVE) is filled with pictures and personal stories that will both entertain and enlighten the readers. Lucinda's life has forever changed because of her son's football career. Melvin's story will be as much fun for everyone to read as it has been for her as she relives it with him through this book. Until now, she is still overwhelmed by the impact of his career on her life.
