Author Ozzy Vikman takes readers on an introspective, personal journey through the ups and downs of his life in his moving new poetry collection, "A Thing Called Life" (published by AuthorHouse).

When Vikman was 15 years old, he began writing about his thoughts, feelings and experiences in poetic form. The process proved to be a therapeutic one, so he continued, and is hopeful that his writings will inspire others to put pen to paper themselves. "Poetry is starting to be a lost art form," the author laments.

Reviews about "A Thing Called Love":

"This earnest record of emotions may inspire readers to look deeper at their own feelings," says Kirkus Indie.

"Redemption is a recurring theme in A Thing Called Life. Each poem's speaker is asking for a new lease on life. Penance is uncertain, but hope is present. The simplicity of the forms and language makes their messages accessible to a broad audience," states Foreword Clarion Reviews.

"The poems in A Thing Called Life show readers that tough people can outlast tough times if they stay positive and focus on the light at the end of the tunnel. Tackling universal themes such as pain and love, the short, accessible poems ask readers to celebrate "a thing called life," and to do more and live better," says Foreword Clarion Review

Approximately 100 poems tackle subject matter ranging from fear and failure to joy and redemption. Although the content remains specific to Vikman's own experiences, many readers will find themselves connecting with his work.

An excerpt from "A Thing Called Life":

"You're not alone, and keep up the fight in your life, to always develop, and to be open to new things, and life is worth living, never stop dreaming, about a better future! But in order to achieve you need to start by changing the way you think, act yourself, don't judge other people based on race, looks, thoughts, decisions, religion, opinions or ideas etc., and find the beautiful things in short moments, and small parts of your life, and use them, to be a better person."

When asked what his overall message for readers is, Vikman's answer is simple: "Never give up!"
