The Colorado Center for the Book, the program department of the Colorado Humanities, runs the Colorado Book Awards, which is presented annually by Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book. The awards were launched in 1991 with just four awards categories to recognize authors, illustrators, editors and publishers, and have since expanded to 13 literary categories:
Many of Colorado's most prominent authors have been recognized with these awards, including David Milofsky, John Fielder, Tom Noel, Stephanie Kane and Linda Hogan, among others. Judging generally occurs in April, and the awards will be presented at a ceremony in Denver, Colorado, on June 2.
Non-Coloradan authors who are interested in other book award opportunities can visit Outskirts Press to learn how to get submitted. For information about other self-publishing and book marketing services from Outskirts Press, visit the company at http://www.OutskirtsPress.com.
