Author Clyde K. Kitchen practiced ophthalmology for 50 years. With his revised paperback edition of "Fact and Fiction of Healthy Vision: Understanding Eye Care for Adults and Children" (published by WestBow Press), Kitchen uses his many years of experience to offer an updated, comprehensive guide to eye problems and health.

In "Fact and Fiction of Healthy Vision," Kitchen explains common, everyday facts about eyes he feels people need to know. He discusses the inevitability of vision aids such as glasses or contacts as well as diseases that affect many people, like cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Kitchen hopes his book will prove to be a valuable resource for anyone interested in learning about and having hope for the health of their eyes. He offers two recommendations for anyone interested in preserving the health of their eyes: get a good eye exam and read "Fact and Fiction of Healthy Vision."

An excerpt from "Fact and Fiction of Healthy Vision":

"Now that I am retired, I can observe and sympathize with both the doctor and patient point of view. However, if a patient is to be making decisions for themselves in eye care, then they need to be well informed so as to make intelligent decisions. I have written this book to help people know the basics about their own eyes, to point out some of their choices in eye care, and help them make informed decisions."
