The imagination can run wild, and when it does, it can sometimes play tricks, especially at night, under the moonlight. "But how much of it is real?" author Olga M. Perez asks her readers. In her new picture book, she explores how the imagination can inspire people to see, feel and hear beyond what they normally would, blending chilling illustrations (by Leticia O. Lopez) and a gripping narrative to give readers the sensation of Fright Under the Moonlight.

A little boy is alone in his home. In the dead of night, waves of strange and spooky sounds roll inside the house. He investigates and searches for the source of the sounds. It could be an owl, its high pitched whistle dipping and diving through the night, or it could be a lurking vampire searching for a throat to bite. It could be a woman weeping in distress, or the bride of Frankenstein rummaging through the basement for a wedding dress. Spell-binding illustrations and lyrical verses will draw readers into the shadows, to hear the sounds of the night, to imagine what lurks and lingers when darkness falls.

This spine-tingling experience will show young readers how they can use their imagination to have fun adventures even - or especially - during the night, when things can get creepy, when they can share scary stories and feel the Fright Under the Moonlight.
