Working out a failing marriage takes a lot of courage. But it takes a lot more to recognize when to stop and just let go. This is what author Nicolette Schurk aims to share with her readers in "All About Love and Then Some" (published by Xlibris). In this eye-opening collection of evocative poems, the author reveals meaningful insight on love, family and its necessary sacrifices.

"All About Love and Then Some" presents poignant verse that speaks directly to the heart. Most of these poems were written by the author at the height of her misery. Not knowing where to turn, she used words to express her emotions. Then, answers began to take form. Eventually, she braved herself to act. Fifteen years of a 'hell-like' marriage concluded when she took her two children, packed all their clothes and left for the uncertain. This pivotal moment in her life shaped her as she is right now - an empowered woman and mother who has learned to accept life with all its ambivalence and insecurities. From then on, she focused on herself and her children, seeing for the first time the little things that she has been ignoring during all those years of martyrdom.

Through the voice of her poems, readers are taken to a journey of pain, fortitude and liberation, script in wonderful poetry. Schurk hopes to inspire many to widen their scope of possibilities and realize that letting go, though hard, could be the first step towards achieving that seemingly elusive happiness. Leaving a message of encouragement for her readers, she advises, "Take courage, be brave, and do what's best for you and your children. You will survive."
