In her 2012 book "Dear God Save Me" (published by AuthorHouse), which is getting a revived marketing push in 2013, Nicole Lake Watson takes readers through her journey to peace via connecting with God, and she inspires readers to embark on their own spiritual transformation.
In this collection of letters to God, Watson conveys glimpses of the things that weigh on the heart of a person trying to live righteously. She offers God praise and thanks and questions him, begs him for his forgiveness and suggests doubt. She also admits that the paths she has taken haven't always been best. Instead of giving up, she asks God for strength and safety while offering encouragement to others.
An excerpt from "Dear God Save Me":
"Lord,
Tell them not to waste their tears on me.
I lived a life like everyone else.
An imperfect life that is.
And if they should say anything,
Tell them not to lie about me.
They should simply say 'she tried'."
Watson recognizes that there will always be struggles in life, but she encourages readers to turn to God for help with their problems. "Most people can relate to the need to be free from mental torment and spiritual bondage that keeps them bound to old ways and never progressing into better lives," she says. She hopes her book leads them toward God's forgiveness.
