According to authors Nicholas Snow and Guy de la Croix, platonic love is a nonsexual love between two people, in which one person inspires the other's mind and spirit and so seek to attain the eternal truth, the world of ideas. Authors Nicholas Snow and Guy de la Croix alter Plato's idea of love in their novel "Last Love" (published by AuthorHouse UK).

Philip Platner, a professor at Christ's College in Cambridge, is more than familiar with Plato's work - he teaches it. When doctoral candidate and Philip's person of interest, Dora von Neubeck, writes that perhaps Plato's concept of platonic love was really erotic disillusionment, Philip is left in awe. What begins as Dora's search for further evidence of the idea quickly turns into a journey that spans centuries.

Throughout "Last Love," readers will follow Philip, Dora, a lecturer and a special forces major as they face criminal elements and a set of fanatical monks in the south of France while pursuing Plato's lost dialogue. "Last Love" parallels the story of the protagonists alongside two other timelines, one set during Plato's time, another during medieval times. Together the stories illustrate the many facets of love, while providing readers with an adventure the authors hope they won't soon forget.
