When the environment strikes back, people must hang on for their lives to survive or suffer the worst. As author Nicholas A. J. Hastings releases his new book, A Tree Too Far, readers will find themselves immersed in a community whose relationships, lives, and futures will be challenged because of blazing bushfires.
Jill Morcroft leads the fight to preserve the environment. Bruce Hunter, on the other hand, seeks to profit from land clearing and subdivision. Simmo, a long-standing local resident, foresees the fire dangers that others ignore. Their families enjoy a lifestyle that combines advantages of both city and country living. Across their family lines, romances, conflicts, and friendships abound. But when the deadliest bushfires in Australia's history hits the community, the struggles for survival bring a heart-wrenching climax that changes lives forever.
In A Tree Too Far, readers will witness how tree-change turns to tragedy; the conflict between environmentalists and developers; and forest protection versus human safety. Lives are about to take a drastic turn for the denizens of this community, and readers will see it through as they turn the pages of this novel.

About the Author
Nicholas Hastings lives in Melbourne, Australia. In 1983, he lived in the Dandenong Ranges close to where the Ash Wednesday bush fires occurred. In 2009, he lived in the Yarra Valley, close to the Black Saturday fires. He and his family were not personally involved in the fire tragedies. His awareness of, and concern for, the many conflicting issues of lifestyle and fire safety inspired him to write A Tree Too Far. The title reflects the famous World War 2 episode immortalized as A Bridge Too Far.
