New book recounts life, times of baby boomer amidst times of change

Dyanne Mason Jones tells her story in "Hello World . . . What The Hell?" (published by Xlibris), recounting the life of a child of segregation, an advocate of integration and a warrior of God. This is her gift for her granddaughter's future 16th birthday. It is a story of family, inner growth, passion, music, love, tragedy and miracles that will take readers on a journey of 61 years in a background of race, cultural and global issues.

The story begins in Tulsa, Oklahoma, swerves across America and continues in Frisco, Texas. Readers will have the pleasure of knowing Jones and joining her in her struggles during a turbulent period of time, an era of change marked by the emergence of iconic social justice movements rallying against the prejudices of society.

"Everybody experiences trials and tribulations during their lifetime, partakes in adventures with family members, co-workers, friends or strangers," Jones says, explaining that her exploits are also the shared experiences of her generation and bear parallels with occurrences in the readers' own lives. About the Author
Born in 1951, Dyanne Mason Jones has created many EEO/AA program modules on proactive and enforcement techniques; developed and enforced the first minority/female business enterprise program in Oklahoma. She established the first mentoring program between local churches and the city of Tulsa for youth and community enhancement. She was the first black female chair of the City's United Way Campaign and the first black woman appointed at the Tulsa Community College Board of Trustees. She is the recipient of numerous local, state and national awards. She was named "One of the Most Influential Women in Oklahoma in 2001." After retiring, she founded the I. and E. Ladies Club, which led to the "Destined to Succeed Program," inspiring and encouraging the teens through community service projects. She moved to Texas in 2009 to begin a new career ? a storyteller to her beautiful granddaughter, Madison.
