Retired Army Chief Warrant Officer Artemus Newton finds himself embroiled in another unexpected adventure. This new thriller opens with a window into the past - a time when the Cold War was in full force and a young Central Intelligence Agency field officer named Bill Hennick is gathering information in 1948 in Soviet-occupied East Germany. He narrowly escapes with that top-secret information. Fast-forward 65 years, and Hennick's possessions have gone to his new friend, Artemus Newton, including detailed memoirs of missions for the OSS and CIA and mention of an Operation Scoundrel. When a hired assassin who once tried to kill Artemus Newton is freed from prison, wheels are set in motion for another chance for Newton to serve his country.

"Scoundrel: An Artemus Newton Thriller," the third novel featuring Artemus Newton, finds him still carrying a torch for the beautiful Alexis Lee, a clandestine field officer for the CIA who is practically engaged to her boss. Members of a secret organization seeking power have not forgotten that Newton and Alexis foiled their plans last year and still plan to seek revenge. Soon, Artemus finds himself battling hired killers, criminals and enemy agents, but he's got some unexpected allies. The only thing that can save him and the country from the latest political plot are some of the very same people Hennick fought against during the Cold War. Will Artemus Newton and his allies be able to foil the plot or will the country fall to an organization intent on world domination?
