New Thriller Novel, HEGEMONY is Released

The danger is clear and present in author Elizabeth Ferido-Bohlin's novel, which depicts a looming terrorist threat poised to subjugate an unwary Europe should decisive action not be taken. The narrative involves a terrorist master plan encoded in a memory card brought to Stockholm, in the royal entourage of a Saudi Arabian prince visiting the nation to sign an arms deal involving the Gripen fighter jet and address Turkey's EU membership. The memory card goes missing, a Saudi ambassador is murdered and a Swedish prostitute is beheaded, while unsavory and corrupt details of the arms deal are exposed. Government ministers, rivaling Islamist terrorists, three young people - the Swedish Crown princess, a PhD candidate and a neophyte police superintendent - and an Iranian nurse/code breaker grapple with each other in Stockholm and Oxford University for control of the threat hovering over the heads of states in Brussels.

"Hegemony" is a suspenseful portrayal of post-9/11 terror, packed with action, excitement and political intrigue. With it, Ferido-Bohlin shares her belief in the importance of strong leadership and fearlessness in times of danger.

About the Author
Elizabeth Ferido-Bohlin was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, in northern Philippines. She has a degree in political science and studied law at the University of the Philippines. She was accepted in a one-year diploma course in international relations at Stockholm University, awarded a two-year guest scholarship by the Swedish Institute for a master's in political science, then later joined the PhD programme. She has worked at two diplomatic missions in Stockholm and spent almost two years at Oxford University to research and to write this political thriller. She lives in Östermalm, Stockholm.
