Every year a small mountain village becomes encased in an ice dome that is formed when surrounding Fousilla Trees unfurl their coiled branches over the village and ice forms over them. It is usually regarded a magical and happy event since the villagers plan for it each year and are happy for it to be there until a series of occurrences causes the ice to slowly melt. But this particular year, things are different.
The ice dome has formed at Christmas and Santa will not be able to enter the village. The villagers become desperate to find a way out but to do that they must first discover what caused this unfortunate timing in the first place. What will happen to Fousillaville now? Can Christmas be saved in time? In the story that unfolds, readers will learn, among other things, the power of hope.
"At a time when hatred seems to abound, this is a story for all ages that brings awareness to the power of hope, forgiveness and kindness," Moreau says. "It shows that we can change our destiny if we apply a conscious effort to practice these qualities, changing our thoughts in order to change our behavior. Our hearts contain the key. This story encourages us to examine our own behavior."
Although the story takes place at Christmas, "Fousillaville" features many lessons that will inspire and warm the hearts of readers whatever the season.
