MUMBAI, India

Author Manoj Jain bases his new romance novel, "Naina: The Eyes" (published by Partridge India), around the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India - known as 26/11 to the world - as a means of highlighting the emptiness of mindless ambition and advocating for the fulfillment of the human need to love and be loved.

"I strongly believe that people should realize that negative impacts, created by wrong and false priorities in their lives, only leads to depression," Jain says. "They must come to understand that love and peace are our true needs."

A male musician, Sameer, and a female nurse, Naina, fall for each other in their first encounter, but they are separated when Sameer is injured in the brutal attack of 26/11. Two months later, Sameer and Naina meet again. With Naina's help, Sameer overcomes his injuries and the two finally get married. It seems they will live happily ever after.

But on their first night together as man and wife, Naina collapses. She is diagnosed with a rare disease and given only 30 days to live. Sameer turns against time, removing all clocks and calendars from their house, but also writing the numbers 1-30 on 30 pieces of paper and releasing one at midnight each night until only one piece is left.

Hoping to express his belief that music is the best thing to happen to humanity, Jain has composed theme music for Sameer and Naina as well as a track entitled, "Love Is Eternal." These tracks are available at http://www.authormanojjain.com for readers interested in supplementing their reading experience.
