Author B.D. Mullins' new collection of poetry and prose, "Life's Rhymes for Our Times" (published by Trafford Publishing), offers readers the chance to view and observe the world as Mullins has seen it.

Each poem captures a moment or memory from Mullins' life, recreating it for readers. He also includes a brief story of the event that inspired each poem and remembers the special people who played a role in the event.

Vivid and moving, "Life's Rhymes for Our Times" explores a number of topics, including love, friendship, family and time. Mullins hopes readers will see the deeper meaning in his stories and poems and view their own worlds a little differently.

An excerpt from the poem "Isn't Life Beautiful," featured in "Life's Rhymes for Our Times":

"I crept upon the silence once
Only to watch it slip away
It came down to earth softly
And I looked upon this wonder"
