Author Priscilla Pak-Kyun takes wisdom gleaned from reading, meditation and personal experience and condenses it for readers in her new nonfiction, "Jesus Christ for dum-dums and smarties" (published by CrossBooks).

In 11 short chapters, Pak-Kyun combines excerpts from Scripture with selected songs and encouraging messages about the power of faith. "It was written with tears as I meditated on the life of Jesus," the author explains. "Everyone is hurting and needs to know that there is a Savior who loves you inside and out."

An excerpt from "Jesus Christ for dum-dums and smarties":

"Coming to Jesus is crucial for all dum-dums and smarties; do not try to reason your way out of it today. For today is the day of salvation! Come to Jesus; come just as you are. Your reasoning may be skewed, so do not trust it with all of your heart. Your feelings and heart are not always in the right condition to follow after, either. It is a matter of you doing what is right no matter what you feel or what you or others may think. The best decision one can make is to come to Jesus. He's been waiting for you!"

The proceeds from "Jesus Christ for dum-dums and smarties" will go to start Kinsman Redeemer Intercessors, a non-profit organization that will "help nurture people in the ministry to better serve others and help them love Jesus with all their hearts, souls, mind and strength."
