"Hope Street" is author Amanda Andruzzi's true story; her frightening journey of co-addiction eventually led her to discover the inner strength needed to rise up from the depths of despair.

"It's the good moments that addicts show us - because they're not all bad - that keep us hanging on long after we should say good-bye.

I was angry because even though Jim is no longer Jim, before this started he had to make a choice, and he chose lies and drugs over his wife and daughter. I would have gone to hell and back for him if only he would have been honest with me. He never was."

Nineteen-year-old Amanda Andruzzi had never forged a strong connection with any man before she met 23-year-old Jim. She became lost in his dimpled smile and green eyes, and couldn't know that three years later, she would embark on a dark, long path lined with addiction, lies, and fraud.

In her unforgettable memoir, Amanda shares her 12-year relationship with a high-functioning addict and con artist who manipulated and controlled every situation for his own twisted needs. She describes living with an addict who defrauded clients and family members out of millions. She explains how she became a co-addict, a phenomenon not fully acknowledged or understood by many, including co-addicts themselves. It was only after she exhausted every outlet that she finally allowed the healing process to begin.

"Hope Street" should be read and shared by anyone who has experienced addiction or living in the grip of another's demons. It is a brave and inspirational story.
