New Love Story THE TALE OF THE ELM TREES is Released

Late last month, Utah writer S. Wyatt Young published his debut novel, "The Tale of the Elm Trees." The story takes place in Charlottesville, Virginia, and tells of a young man by the name of Charlie Shaw who seven years earlier fell victim to religious fundamentalism in the wake of personal tragedy.

"By the time of the story, Charlie is someone who wants nothing to do with God," said Young, "but when he meets a girl named Katie Monroe, his world is turned upside down. Through his relationship with Katie, Charlie is taken into the deepest wounds of his heart and experiences a healing that allows him to cope with even the darkest nights."

In the wake of Friday's attacks on Paris, for which ISIS has taken responsibility, Young believes that "The Tale of the Elm Trees" will offer hope to those who are struggling with the latest blot of religious fundamentalism on our world.

"It's filled with engaging conversations on deep topics by the protagonists," wrote a reviewer of Young's book, "and more than once, I stopped to consider how I identified with one side of the dialogue or another. By the end, I'd spent a good amount of time in tears."

"It is my hope and prayer that those around the world who have written off God because of religious fundamentalism will take a second look," said Young, "and journey with Charlie through their doubts and their pain. They won't be disappointed if they do."
