J.D.. Salinger, most known for his successful novel in 1951, THE CATCHER IN THE RYE, passed away in 2010 at the age of 91. However, he may not be done publishing quite yet.
Between 2015 and 2020, a series of new Salinger releases are planned, which will be co-written by David Shields and Shane Salerno. They are set to be published Sept. 3. A documentary on Salinger will be released on September 6. Then in January, it will air on PBS's 'American Masters' series.
According to the NY Times, one collection, "The Family Glass," would add five new stories about the fictional Glass family. Another would include a new version of "The Last and Best of the Peter Pans," about the fictional Caulfields.
Other volumes include Salinger's World War II years and Eastern religion.
The SALINGER documentary features interviews with 150 subjects including Salinger's friends and colleagues who have never spoken on the record before as well as film footage, photographs and other material that has never been seen. Check out the trailer below:
