Midwest Book Review praised Cat Bruno's debut novel, "The Girl from the North," as "Exceptional entertainment with deftly created characters and unexpected plot twists." Now, a year later, Ms. Bruno continues the story of her strong female protagonist with the second book in the series, "Daughter of the Wolf."

Slated for a January 2016 national release, "Daughter of the Wolf" seamlessly crosses genres, with elements of fantasy and romance, which readers of fantasy and young adult literature will find pleasing. For those looking for diversity in fiction and atypical fantasy characters, Ms. Bruno offers an engaging read with uncommon voices.

Painted Quill Press proudly offers best-selling author Cat Bruno's Pathway of the Chosen series for purchase, through their website: www.thingsfantastical.com and through Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B019WJUH20

In the ever-increasing world of epic fantasy where George RR Martin's Game of Thrones has captivated readers and viewers, Ms. Bruno presents her own uniquely-crafted world, with a female voice that is rarely seen in such presentations. Falling somewhere in between the Twilight series, with shades of romance and paranormal accents, and Game of Thrones, in scope and depth of characters, the Pathway of the Chosen series could be the next big thing.

In the genre of epic fantasy and literature, the author has more room, and hopefully the reader has patience, to allow characters to come to life slowly and the story to develop once the reader is fully invested. The Girl from the North, which is the first in the series, moves about at its own pace, until the last quarter of the book. By then, Bronwen, the lead protagonist, should be well-understood, although many will question the choices that she makes.

When asked about the difference between the first two books in her series, Cat Bruno stated, "In the first, the heroine in quite innocent, and the writing, setting, and tone are haloed with allusions to light. Yet, nearly all changes as Daughter of the Wolf begins, including a much darker viewpoint, as Bronwen learned much at the end of the first book. For the second book, she leaves the only home that she remembers and travels throughout this vast world, which allowed me space to explore and create diversity in the genre."
