MAITLAND, Australia - Lucid wanderings through prose and poetry await readers within John Hall' s collection of poetic "Awakenings" (published by Xlibris AU), which takes them across existence, that winding river with neither beginning nor end, leading travelers to unexpected destinations. There, a meditative experience takes place as Hall bares his heart and soul, presenting an enigma that compels readers to look within themselves in an intimate moment of shared reflection.
"Awakenings" describes the unfolding poetic journey as the writer explores his connection with God - the Universe - as a result of exposure to various meditative practices. In reality, Hall reveals his journey as he learns to "connect" with self and listen to his "inner" voice. He endeavors to capture those thoughts that he believes "oftentimes, pass through all of our minds and seek answers or, perhaps, recognition and acceptance."
"Many people are grappling with the meaning of their life - my poetry shares with them my thoughts on this subject - my poetry may resonate with some of them." Hall says.

About the Author
John Hall says he is a man on a mission - to better understand himself and his place in the world. Over the years he has explored various modalities to understand the meaning of life - including therapy, meditation, reading - it was only in poetry that he finally found himself able to express the wandering thoughts in his head and, more importantly, to express his "feelings." Hall's poetry is more about "feeling" than thought and, whilst he only started writing a couple of years ago, has found connection with other "kindred spirits" who have found themselves on the same journey.
