"Avatar," "Titanic" and "Star Wars" are three of the five top?grossing films of all time, and they all share two things in common: a dominant theme of good vs. evil and a lasting impression on audiences.

What impact do these morality battles have on us, the readers or viewers, as we relate to the protagonists and face our own conflicts? Author K.L. Hughes approaches this question through her new Christian, fiction adventure, A Mighty Warrior.

In the book, Hughes stresses the importance of having faith and courage when overcoming obstacles and challenges. With the characters in her novel, Hughes portrays an average family and their struggles with morality and devotion using the concept of angels - traditionally presented as a perfect gauge of right and wrong.

"We are all taught from a young age about doing the right thing. Like Snow White eating the bad apple, so many distractions and influences seduce us away from the ethical choice," said Hughes.

In A Mighty Warrior, the Foster family receives the news that their youngest son is dying of cancer and their lives are devastated. With their world torn apart, their other two children must face a heartbreak and fear of their own as the family foundation crumbles. The dark and light armies are now at war for the young family's future.

"There is a need in the mainstream entertainment industry depicting God's guardians. As we humans struggle with our own decisions, angels are strong and powerful warriors under God's command who fight unseen battles all around us every day," Hughes added.
