New Children's Book MY ALPHABET BOOK is Released

Author Barbara Serling brings her love of reading and learning to first-time readers everywhere with the publication of her new children's book, "My Alphabet Book" (published by AuthorHouse), illustrated by Joshua Allen.
"My Alphabet Book" takes readers through all 26 letters of the alphabet and offers easy examples of words that begin with each letter. From "Ant" to "Zoo," readers will learn to associate the word with the person, place or object depicted in the book.
Serling worked as a teacher for over 20 years and specialized in teaching children how to read. She designed "My Alphabet Book" using bright illustrations to catch the young reader's attention and monosyllabic words to make reading words easier.
Through her book, Serling hopes to give parents and teachers an easy way to help children get started reading and building a vocabulary. Serling believes that with practice children will be reading along with their parents.
"A book like this is needed for parents, teachers and siblings to read to children," Serling says. "There are beautiful illustrations in the book to appeal to young children."

About the Author
Barbara Serling is a retired reading specialist with over 20 years of teaching reading in grades from K-12. She received a master's degree in education (M.Ed) with a reading specialist certificate. She wrote "My Alphabet Book" with monosyllabic words, which she considers to be the easiest way to learn the alphabet and eventually to learn to read. She lives in northern California.
