In her new children's book "Joey Visits Grandpa" (published by Trafford Publishing), author Patricia Nichvolodoff creates a lighthearted and humorous tale inspired by memories of her father.

Nichvolodoff remembers her father's antics; he was always losing his glasses or misplacing his dentures, she says. Using these memories as inspiration, she created a fictional story about a boy named Joey and his grandfather.

Joey and Grandpa spend lots of time together, but they often run into a problem that needs to be solved. One day, while feeding the fish, Grandpa loses his glasses. He looks under the couch and under its cushions, even under the rug - but he can't find them. As Joey watches the fish swim in their tank, he sees Grandpa's glasses floating in the water.

The two enjoy laughs together each time Grandpa misplaces his spectacles; he loses them while making pancakes, grocery shopping and reading newspaper comics. Each time, Joey encounters a problem and must find a way to solve it. Nichvolodoff says the humorous scenarios in her book will motivate young readers to solve problems on their own.

"I think this book will appeal to readers because it depicts real life in an exaggerated, humorous way," Nichvolodoff says of her book. "It also demonstrates a loving relationship between a grandfather and his grandson, which is what grandparents, parents and children want to nurture in their own lives."
