"We acknowledged a gap in the marketplace regarding the variety of books available for toddlers and young children that address feelings," says Meyers, author of "The Lazy Rock." "My husband offered up the title of the book for inspiration and from there I just started writing. We are very proud of this children's story and are happy to share that our readers feel the same way."
An excerpt from the book:
Tick, tock!
The lazy rock…
Dreams of taking a swim.
"Even if just for one day?"
Well that would sure be a win.
The lazy rock is hopeful.
Set in the Pacific Northwest, the story's main character, the lazy rock, just will not budge. Stuck in the sand with no arms and no legs, the lazy rock longs to swim in the ocean. And, with help from the five children at the beach, the lazy rock finds its way. "We frequent Bainbridge Island to visit family and the Pacific Northwest inspired the location of the story," adds Meyers. The story is available in hardcover, paperback and various digital formats.
