BOCA RATON, FL(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2014) - World-renowned financial advisor Matthew T. Shafer recently published a new book, "The Future of Your Wealth" (http://mattshafer.us/), which troubleshoots financial challenges frequently ignored by money managers.

"Managing wealth in America has never been as complicated as it is today; we aren't taught personal wealth management in kindergarten through 12th grade, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a personal finance course in college," says Shafer, named one of the top 1,000 U.S. financial advisors by Barron's Magazine.

"If you're a successful American, the risk of losing what you've earned has never been higher. With an environment hostile towards investors and entrepreneurs growing in America and abroad, it's becoming an ordeal to manage the risks from taxation, regulation and a temperamental market."

CNBC contributor Ron Insana praised Shafer's new book, writes:

"... While often vilified, most wealthy folks worked hard for their money and require constant care and guidance in preserving and passing on the fruit of their labors. Matthew Shafer offers just that in a clear and concise new book, "The Future of Your Wealth." Building on years of experience as an investment advisor, Shafer offers valuable insights to those who, despite notions to the contrary, need advice just as badly as any of us, even if they are different from you and me."

Shafer's book also focuses on risks for the average American, and ways by which individuals can be their own worst enemy.

"Many investors are often quite capable of analyzing their own investment opportunities," Shafer says. "Emotions, however, often make investors too optimistic and enthusiastic when their investments are on the rise, and too fearful and skeptical when they see a decline."
