Ron Whittaker has recently released a new book where he charts his 7-year hike across the Idaho Centennial Trail, a journey that was nothing short of life-changing as he found himself overcoming great odds and forging friendships. Readers can join him in "The Search for the Flat Ness Monster" (published by AuthorHouse).

Whittaker always had a fascination and admiration for long-distance hikers. He was captivated by their tales of trekking the famous long trails of America. When he moved to Idaho, he learned about a relatively new trail called the Idaho Centennial trail, a trail system encompassing 1,200 miles that crossed the state from the Nevada border in the south to the northern panhandle. His book describes his adventures through this trail and the many lessons he learned from the excursion.

Everyone has dreams of something they want to accomplish. Whittaker's firsthand account is more than just his personal journey, it is an empowering story of the human spirit, a story for anyone who wants to go out of their comfort zone and do something extraordinary.

"I am proof that anyone can overcome personal limitations and accomplish a long term goal if they apply enough small steps for long enough in the same direction," Whittaker says. "I hope readers will see how much I grew in endurance and experience, and will learn how I faced harder and harder challenges along the way."
